Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated ESL Instructor to teach onsite English as a Second Language (ESL) and/or English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classes for frontline team members at a Client facility. This is an excellent opportunity for passionate educators who enjoy helping adult learners improve their English communication skills in a supportive workplace environment.

Position Details

  • Contract Duration: July 6, 2026 – October 3, 2026
  • Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • Class Hours: 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
  • Instructional Hours: Approximately 9 hours per week
  • Work Setting: 100% Onsite

Responsibilities

  • Teach onsite English as a Second Language (ESL) and/or English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses to frontline team members.
  • Prepare engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that support adult learners.
  • Develop course content and classroom activities aligned with learning objectives.
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate attendance and performance records.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and interactive learning environment.
  • Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and required training sessions.
  • Participate in recruitment events and program-related activities.
  • Collaborate with program staff to support learner success and continuous program improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, TESOL, ESL, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience teaching ESL, ESP, adult education, or English language learners.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop engaging instructional materials and lesson plans.
  • Comfortable teaching diverse groups of adult learners.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or ESL teaching certification.
  • Experience teaching in workplace or adult education settings.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
