Job Description

We are seeking a legal assistant to assist the Board of Registration in Nursing with complaint resolutions and processing discipline determinations on licensed nurses.

The temporary legal assistant will work with two complaint resolution coordinators on processing completed discipline determinations on licensed nurses.

Once the resolution of the case is determined, the temp paralegal will:

  • Draft consent agreements
  • Select the correct letter template and draft letters that will be sent to licensees including dismissal letters.
  • With a high-level accuracy, input individualized data pertaining to the dismissal/discipline and the licensee.
  • Work with a variety of Microsoft Office software, being exceptionally skilled in Excel, sorting data, designing spreadsheets and plotting data in an accurate, detailed manner. perform analytics as requested.
  • Utilize certified and registered mail, tracking mail receipt and follow up
  • Learn new software quickly, including proprietary and extract data from multiple websites
  • Upload documents.
  • Work with large databases
  • Transfer cases to prosecution, tracking any additional information, as necessary.
  • Skilfully use office equipment such as copiers, printers, fax machines, and scanner.
  • Answer emails, requiring minimal direction
  • Maintain confidential information.
  • Fluently apply legal terms.
  • Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Work in Boston 5 days per week.
  • Have certification as a paralegal.

RATE: $33.32 - $36.32/hr. On W2

Required / Desired Skills:

  • Minimum 60 months of experience working with the Bureau of Professional Licensure, 239 Causeway Street, Boston, MA

  • At least 12 months of experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • At least 12 months of experience in setting up and managing electronic files

  • At least 12 months of experience in communicating with the public, both in person and over the telephone

  • At least 12 months of demonstrated ability to quickly learn proprietary software

  • At least 12 months of experience handling large databases in an organized and logical manner

  • At least 12 months of typing skills

  • Must possess a domestic paralegal certification or a Juris Doctor (JD) degree
