Performs application development, enhancement, maintenance, and support for State Portal, Workflow Management, Eligibility Web Services, Family Violence Program, Enterprise Document Services, Enterprise Content Management, Document Center, Call Center Inquiry, and other Social Services applications.

Develop, enhance and maintain existing and new web-based J2EE/Portal applications within HHSC’s SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) platform using Agile methodologies. 

As a member of the team, participate in requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, development, testing and deployment of new application components, as required. 

Create technical and design documentation, as required.

Perform system analysis and problem resolution, as required.

Analyze software for configuration & performance tuning opportunities, as required.

Develop and maintain data and process models, as required.

Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure applications function properly and without error.

Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.

Participate in program design, coding and test walk-through meetings to provide input regarding technical standards and customer requirements.

Provide application support (defect repair, maintenance, and production operations support) for web-based Java applications in an SOA platform. Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem resolution. Analyze software for defects and performance tuning opportunities. Develop and test application code to resolve defects and improve application reliability and performance

SALARY RANGE: 120K TO 130K Per Annum

CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Experience

8 years: Hands-on experience in Front End/UI development, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise-class applications on the J2EE application development platform.

8 years: Hands-on experience participating in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

8 years: Hands-on development experience implementing applications utilizing any J2EE Application Server, including Authentication, Authorization, and Caching strategies.

8 years: Programming experience in languages and technologies such as:

Java, J2EE, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS, Angular, Typescript, Spring, Java Server Pages (JSP), JSON, XML, ES5/ES6, NPM, Maven, and related UI frameworks/libraries.

8 years: Experience implementing client-facing applications with responsive design and development.

8 years: Experience implementing Single Page Applications (SPAs) using JavaScript or frameworks/libraries like Angular.

8 years: Experience in developing self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components.

8 years: Experience in test-driven development (TDD) and creating tests using frameworks such as Karma, Jasmine, Selenium.

8 years: Demonstrable experience developing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise-level Angular applications, with complete ownership of the front-end stack (JavaScript/Angular/HTML/CSS).

8 years: Experience implementing best practices in application design, performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Preferred Skills/Experience

5 years: Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server version 8 or later.

5 years: Hands-on experience with Agile Development Methodologies, preferably Scrum.

5 years: Hands-on experience developing web applications for cloud platforms.

5 years: Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodology.

5 years: Development experience for mobile and tablet platforms.
