Job Description
As a Security Specialist, your primary role is to safeguard an organization's information systems, networks, and data from security threats and breaches. You will work to establish and maintain security protocols, implement security measures, and monitor systems for potential vulnerabilities or incidents. Your responsibilities encompass a broad range of tasks, including risk assessment, security policy development, incident response, and security awareness training.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to the organization's information systems and data.

Analyze security risks associated with hardware, software, networks, and processes, and develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks.

Security Policy Development and Implementation: Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Implement access control mechanisms, authentication protocols, and encryption standards to protect sensitive data and resources.

Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor security systems, logs, and alerts for signs of suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or security breaches.

Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and coordinate incident response efforts to contain and mitigate security threats.

Develop incident response plans, playbooks, and procedures to guide the organization's response to security incidents and data breaches.

Security Awareness Training: Develop and deliver security awareness training programs and materials to educate employees about security risks, best practices, and policies.

Promote a culture of security awareness and compliance throughout the organization by conducting regular training sessions, workshops, and simulations.

Security Architecture and Design: Design and implement security controls, architectures, and solutions to protect information systems, networks, and applications from cyber threats.

Evaluate and recommend security technologies, products, and services to enhance the organization's security posture and resilience.

Security Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks, such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and NIST.

Conduct security audits, assessments, and reviews to assess compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
